The University of Oregon starts its football season on Saturday against Boise State, typically one of the top mid-major programs in America.

Boise State has done nothing but win games at a very high level recently, and while Oregon has arguably been the best team in college football over the past two seasons, this isn't going to be a walk in the park.
Oregon is probably going to win this game relatively easily because of how good it is, but if it doesn't come out and play the type of football that we know it can, there are going to be some strange moments.
Regardless, this season is expected to be a big one for the Ducks. There's really no excuse why this isn't one of the top teams in the country, at least a top-five team in America.
Everybody continues to predict that Oregon will be lights out from top to bottom, including The Athletic, which recently predicted Oregon was the best team in America and will win a national title for the first time in school history.
“As with The Athletic’s own staff predictions, coaches’ votes were spread out among several teams. But whereas our writers and editors favored Notre Dame, the most votes among coaches we surveyed went to Oregon finally winning its first championship, with twice as many coaches voting for the Ducks than any other team. Ten of 18 voters predict a fourth consecutive title for the Big Ten. One coach we surveyed abstained from this question, believing his own team would win it all,” Bruce Feldman wrote.
None of these predictions really come as too much of a surprise at this point, considering how highly everybody's spoken about Oregon over the past couple of months. The good part for Oregon, as well as the bad part, is that it can't win a National Title just by being spoken about.
Oregon has to come out and play the type of football that we all know it should, and fortunately for Dan Lanning, that's something he wants to do. He's ready to prove it, so I expect there to be some very good moments in the near future.
