Fantasy Basketball Dynasty Rankings: Cooper Flagg, Darius Acuff Jr. rise in November update

· Yahoo Sports

Believe it or not, we're less than two weeks into the NBA season. With how much has already happened, that seems crazy.

Devastating injuries, star rookies and breakout players have defined the early part of this season, and we're still five months away from the playoffs. Savvy dynasty managers won't overreact to how players have played to this point, though they may trade away overperformers and buy low on proven players that have struggled.

Visit afnews.co.za for more information.

It will be hard for any player to pass Victor Wembanyama in dynasty rankings for the next five years at least, but if anyone can make a case, it's Cooper Flagg. So far this season, he has averaged 26.8 points, 6.0 rebounds, 6.6 assists, 2.6 steals, 1.2 blocks and 1.4 three-pointers per game while shooting 55.7 percent from the floor and 85.3 percent from deep. Oh, and he's still 19 years old until late next month.

This rookie class has had plenty of hype, and Darius Acuff Jr. is a name that has come up as a player that was drafted outside of the heralded top-four that could win Rookie of the Year. I always considered that to be a longshot, but with how he has played so far, his chances are legitimate. Cameron Boozer is the favorite, and his team being 6-0, while Acuff's Kings are 0-6, could end up being a deciding factor. However, Acuff's sheer volume, plus his surprising shooting efficiency for a rookie guard, will give him a chance to make the All-Rookie First Team.

We still have a lot of season left to play, and there will continue to be dynasty ranking updates every month throughout the year.

Here’s how the Rotoworld staff’s consensus dynasty rankings stand entering November:

Week 9 Top Overall Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Targets For Every Position: Mike Washington Jr Leads The Way

· Yahoo Sports

Week 8 is now behind us, and it's time to focus on the waiver wire to get us started on Week 9. There is a ton of talent available this week, and we are going to help you figure out who to prioritize. These are the top fantasy football waiver wire targets at every position for Week 9.

Top Overall Waiver Wire Targets: Week 9

QB Gardner Minshew, Arizona Cardinals

There are plenty of quarterbacks you can stream on any given week, but Minshew is one of two quarterbacks who took over a starting job this week. The other is whoever is starting for the Ravens this week, and we want no part of that.

Visit casino-promo.biz for more information.

In one half in Week 8, Minshew threw for 188 yards and three touchdowns. The Cardinals are a high-volume passing attack, which gives him a higher weekly ceiling than you might expect. He should be added in most Superflex leagues and some deeper single QB leagues.

RB Mike Washington Jr, Las Vegas Raiders

Washington has overtaken the Raiders' backfield, and Ashton Jeanty has been relegated to a change-of-pace and pass-catching role. While Washington handled 25 carries, Jeanty ran the ball just twice.

Washington has either earned the starting job, or Jeanty is still injured, and Las Vegas isn't giving him any time to get healthy. Either way, Washington could hold this lead-back role for the rest of the season and is the best rest-of-season add on the waiver wire in Week 9.

WR Antonio Williams, Washington Commanders

With Terry McLaurin out for the season, Williams saw an increased role in Week 8, catching five of seven targets for 54 yards, including a 30-yard grab. We expect the rookie to emerge and potentially be a league-winner down the stretch this season. He should be picked up in every fantasy football league with at least 10 teams, and is a must-add in 12-team leagues.

TE Eli Raridon, New England Patriots

We are targeting Raridon this week with Hunter Henry hurt. The Patriots' pass-catchers have been battered by injury, and in Week 9, they could be without AJ Brown, Romeo Doubs, Mack Hollins, and Hunter Henry.

If Henry misses time, Raridon is going to be a major part of the Patriots' passing attack. You can grab him and immediately plug him into your starting lineup for as long as Henry is sidelined; just be sure to monitor Henry's status throughout the week.

Another law enforcement agency in Ontario is warning the public about tampered-with Halloween candy.

“The St. Thomas Police Service is investigating after an individual reported finding a piece of a razor blade inside a mini-Mars bar received while trick-or-treating in the courthouse area on Saturday evening,” the police said in a statement.

Police said the specific address where the chocolate was obtained is unknown. The chocolate and reported blade were both turned over to the police for examination.

“The investigation remains ongoing,” police said. “No other similar reports have been received by STPS at this time.”

Incidents closer to home

Toronto Police is investigating two incidents involving needles and pins found in Halloween candy.

Both events were reported by CityNews on Sunday, but the police sent out an official release on Tuesday morning.

In these two cases, police say the candy was collected while “trick-or-treating” on Saturday night.

In the area of Main St. and Swanick Ave., police say a sewing needle and pin were discovered in two pre-packaged Halloween treats. In the Gerrard St. E. and Jones Ave. area, two pins were discovered in two pre-packaged treats.

“None of the needles or pins were consumed, and no injuries were reported,” the police said. “Residents are encouraged to carefully inspect any candy collected while trick-or-treating. Anyone who discovers anything unusual or concerning is asked to contact police.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-5500.

Widespread incidents

Since Sunday, police in Hamilton and Durham Region have also reported incidents of tampered chocolate.

On Monday, Hamilton Police said that parents had reported sewing needles being found in candy their children had collected while trick-or-treating in the Upper Ottawa St.-Mohawk Rd. area of the East Mountain.

On Sunday, Durham Regional Police said that candy had been found with sewing needles inside of them in the Ritson Rd. N.-Taunton Rd. area of Oshawa.

Further afield, police forces across Canada have also issued public warnings about tampered candy found in LaSalle, Ont., Drummondville and Saint-Marcel, Que., Happy Valley-Goose Bay, N.L., and rural Halifax, where parents searching their child’s bag of Halloween candy found a used syringe.
