Carolina holds a 3-2 series lead and is one victory away from capturing its first Stanley Cup championship since 2006, while Vegas faces elimination and is trying to force a winner-take-all Game 7 back in Raleigh. Puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET.

The Hurricanes have seized control of the series by winning back-to-back games behind timely scoring and improved goaltending.

Captain Jordan Staal has scored in each of the first five games of the Final, while Andrei Svechnikov and Sebastian Aho have powered an offense that has found another level during the series. Carolina has also received a major boost from goaltender Brandon Bussi, who has helped stabilize the crease and put the Hurricanes on the brink of ending a 20-year championship drought.

Vegas, meanwhile, is relying on its championship experience to respond under pressure. The Golden Knights won the Stanley Cup in 2023 and still feature a veteran core led by Mark Stone, Jack Eichel, and Mitch Marner. However, the club enters Game 6 dealing with significant adversity after center William Karlsson was ruled out with a left arm injury, further increasing the pressure on Vegas’ top forwards to generate offense and extend the series.

This Final has delivered plenty of offense, with the teams combining for 33 goals through five games, and Sunday’s matchup has all the ingredients for another memorable chapter. The Hurricanes are trying to complete one of the most impressive playoff runs in franchise history, while the Golden Knights are fighting to keep their championship hopes alive in front of their home crowd and send the series to a decisive Game 7.

This is a great NHL matchup that you will not want to miss; make sure to tune in and catch all the action.

FC Barcelona midfielder and one of the club captains, Frenkie de Jong, started his 2026 FIFA World Cup journey last night with the Netherlands, drawing 2-2 against Japan.

Despite the disappointing result, De Jong delivered an encouraging performance in midfield. The Barcelona midfielder was one of the Dutch side’s standout performers, dictating possession and providing much of the team’s creativity throughout the match.

Indeed, he midfielder made it clear that the Dutch squad remains fully focused on its own ambitions rather than public perception.

“We don’t care how people rank us. We do have the objective of winning the World Championship, like all the other teams. And we’re going to try to achieve it,” he said.

De Jong on Spain

De Jong was also asked about Spain’s prospects in the tournament and had no doubts about their ability to compete for the trophy.
