Harry Kane may be living the dream as both England captain and Bayern Munich talisman, but the 33-year-old has admitted he also harbors other potential dreams for the future, one of which is playing in the NFL.

The Ballon d’Or favorite has never hidden his love for the NFL, nor has he shied away from admitting he wishes to try kicking in the league, and now that he approaches the latter stages of his soccer career, the prospect of switching sports has emerged once more.
While Kane is currently in talks to extend his stay at Allianz Arena beyond next summer, when his existing deal is set to expire, there is nothing to suggest he wouldn’t be able to switch sports in his late 30s or even early 40s.

“That is something I will try and look at a bit more seriously,” Kane said on Wednesday, via The Athletic. “It all depends on what happens in my career over the next five or six years, the motivation and what I want to do. The NFL is a lot more realistic than the golf one, let’s put it that way.”
A keen golfer, Kane has also entertained the idea of one day turning pro, although it seems he is less convinced by this dream.
The NFL would undoubtedly represent something of a dream come true for the forward, although he also noted that soccer remains his number one priority. “If people know I am still on the top of my game here with football, it is not a conversation that would be had,” he said.
But given that father time waits for nobody, Kane has - for the first time - suggested that he could yet follow in the footsteps of the likes of Deion Sanders and Bo Jackson and attempt to conquer the NFL as well as another league simultaneously.
“Maybe if I am in the MLS in the future or somewhere like that it might be a thing where you could connect the two, with the seasons,” Kane suggested. “But it is in the back of my mind because right now, I am feeling that I want to play as long as I can here.”

There is a precedent of transitioning from soccer to the NFL with the likes of Brandon Aubrey (Dallas Cowboys), Matt Gay (Las Vegas Raiders), and Jake Bates (Detroit Lions) all having switched from the beautiful game to the gridiron.
“I take penalties and it is a very similar pressure and technique,” Kane commented. “If I did that, in terms of training, I would be closer to that more than to any other sport. But as I know, with all elite sports, when you watch it on TV, people make it look easy, and you think it is possible, but that is not always the case.
“If I was to do it, it is something I would take seriously. I would take six months to a year to try and practice before.”
Regardless, as Kane mentioned, it seems any potential NFL endeavors are some ways off yet. The England forward is at the top of his game, having found the back of the net 73 times in 65 games for both Bayern and the Three Lions last season, leading him to clinch his second career European Golden Shoe.
As for his future in Germany, Kane said his team and Bayern are “fairly close” to coming to an agreement, believing that it “won’t be too long” until the dotted line is signed.
